After their first ever victory at Sardis Road last Saturday Bedwas begin their home fixtures with a game against our regional neighbours Newport RFC.
Head Coach Ian Gardner was obviously delighted with his sides’ performance last time out. “It was a very encouraging performance last week and one we must build on. The coaching team have been instilling into the players all week that we need to back up that performance.” said Gardner.
“We know that Newport will be hurting badly after their home defeat to Cardiff last week and that a wounded animal is a dangerous animal. We probably start as slight favourites- a tag that does not always sit right with Bedwas RFC.” He added “We are looking forward to the challenge.”
Bedwas make a few changes to last week starting side. Brynley Toms starts at loosehead prop with Dan Preece on the bench. George Lee comes in for Andrew Waite who is unavailable and James Richards starts in place of the injured Nathan Hudd.
