Team News for the visit of the Quins

Bedwas host Carmarthen Quins on Saturday with the team still looking for that elusive first win of the season to pull out of the drop zone. In contrast the Quins have won three out of four during September defeating Cross Keys, Bargoed and Cardiff; their lone defeat being to Newport on the opening Saturday of the season.

Head Coach Stefan Sankala makes a few changes for this game. Joe Scrivens comes in at full back for the unavailable Michael Hathaway. Patric Lewis gets the nod on the right wing to replace Dai Evans who unfortunately broke his arm last Sunday at Newport. Adam Williams moves to inside centre and is partnered by Lewis Bowden. Kane Teear-Bourge and Jacob Chilcott keep their places with Luke Crane starting at scrum half.

Tom Devine and Dale Rogers make up two of the front row changes with Ellis Evans keeping his starting berth at tight head prop. Gareth Allen and James Richards occupy the lock forward positions, Jonathan Armitage moves to blind side flanker and Sion Parry holds onto the open side flanker’s jersey. Nathan Hudd returns and Number 8 and is rewarded for his recent fine form by taking over the captains armband.

On the bench Brynley Toms, Alun Rees and Rhys Hutcherson make up the front from replacements with Phil Williams and Adam Dove being replacement forwards. Tom Rowlands, Dion McIntosh and Jordan Rees take up the remaining three places on the bench.

The full twenty three is:

15. Joe Scrivens, 14. Patric Lewis, 13. Adam Williams 12. Lewis Bowdon, 11. Kane Teear-Bourge, 10. Jacob Chilcott 9. Luke Crane; 1. Tom Devine, 2. Dale Rogers, 3. Ellis Evans, 4. Gareth Allen, 5. James Richards, 6. Jonathan Armitage, 7. Sion Parry, 8. Nathan Hudd. ©
