Match Report

Welcome victory in first preseason friendly

Rhydyfelin RFC 10 Bedwas RFC 32

Bedwas blew away the cobwebs in their first preseason friendly at Rhydyfelin running in 6 tries; 2 tries in each of the three periods of 30 minutes giving Head Coach Ian Gardner a chance to assess some traillists.

Two unconverted Rory Budina tries in the opening period with one for Rhydyfelin by Garret Cann accounted for the scoring. The second period followed the same pattern with Steffan Jones and Aaron Bramwell both crossing for Bedwas and back rower Sam Studley crossing for the home side.

The third period saw Steffan Jones and young second row Gareth Allen cross the latter converted by Jones but there was no reply for the home side.

The Bedwas coaches were content with the performance and will now concentrate on preparing the side for the second and final friendly versus Trebanos on Saturday 19th August 2017, kick off 2-30 pm. (Trebanos RFC, 123 Swansea Rd, Pontardawe, Trebanos, Swansea SA8 4BN)
