With profound sadness Bedwas RFC has to announce the passing of another great stalwart of our club. John Williams a.k.a “Johnny Bedwas” passed away on 21 January 2026, aged 91, after a short illness.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends at this very difficult time.
He was a lifelong member of the club since 1950 (having played from the age of 15 until his late 30’s/early 40’s) and was a committee member for many years.
His funeral will take place at Thornhill Crematorium on Thursday 19th February at 4.30pm.
May he Rest in Peace, thank you for your commitment to Bedwas RFC.
Following the funeral his family will be delighted if you join them for refreshments at Bedwas RFC from 18-00hrs to 20-00hrs to celebrate his life.
