Bedwas shrugged off a sluggish start to run in eight tries to put the Rhondda side to the sword in a game played in good spirit.
On a warm, sunny September afternoon Treorchy took an early lead with a penalty by outside half Jordan Lloyd with four minutes played. Lloyd Wilkins levelled the scores two minutes later after Treorchy were penalised at a ruck.
With nine minutes played Treorchy kicked a penalty to touch before winning the ensuing line-out to set up good field position for a cross-field kick found its way to left winger Liam Lloyd to cross for a try. Jordan Lloyd added the conversion.
Shortly afterwards a Lloyd Wilkins penalty from forty metres reduced arrears to four points.
Bedwas were starting to find their rhythm at this stage and following a penalty cleared to touch a good rolling maul set up Rhys Morgans for a try converted by Lloyd Wilkins put Bedwas ahead for the first time.
Treorchy’s Jordan Lloyd kicked a penalty just after the twenty-minute mark to level the scores before Lloyd Wilkins sidestepped through the visiting defence for a try before adding the extras.
It was all Bedwas for the remainder of the half as debutant Jacob Lee finished off a good break to power through for a try converted by Wilkins.
With the half ending Lloyd Wilkins scooped up a loose ball in the Bedwas half before running seventy yards to cross in the corner, again he converted to put Bedwas 32-13 ahead at the interval.
Bedwas wasted no time in the second half to put the game out of reach of the visitors. A fast break down the middle was finished off by a Will Fishlock try, converted by Wilkins.
Four minutes later Leo Geraci danced through the Treorchy defence for an unconverted try.
With twelve second half Treorchy pulled a try back through replacement Ellis Fackrell converted by Jordan Lloyd, but Bedwas were in no danger of their lead being erased.
Another debutant this time in the shape of replacement Ben Lewis was on the end of a flowing move to cross for an unconverted try before yet another debutant Tristan Kugler crossed for a try to bring up the half century.
Treorchy kept up their work rate and with seconds remaining Treorchy scored a consolation third try courtesy of Liam Lloyd’s second try, converted by Jordan Lloyd.
Next weekend Bedwas 1st XV have no fixture and take their turn for a weekend off courtesy of the odd number of teams in the division.
