Last home game of 2019; we welcome Glamorgan Wanderers

Bedwas host Glamorgan Wanderers on Saturday in their last home fixture of 2019.

With last week’s victory at Maesteg Quins in the bank it will be another tough game this week when former Bedwas Forwards Coach Martyn Fowler brings his Glamorgan Wanderers team to the Bridgefield. The Wanderers currently occupy fourth spot in the league table with 30 points having won 7 out of 10 games.

Injuries mean that a few changes are made to this week’s starting fifteen as James Hallett, Gareth Allen, Jonathan Armitage and Dion McIntosh all miss out.

We are once again grateful to Pontypool United RFC for allowing George Collins on permit and are similarly grateful to Cardiff RFC for allowing Nathan Hudd to appear for Bedwas as he recovers from injury.

Callum Rowlands comes in to the full back berth with Bradley Williams at half back in partnership with Owain Keane.

Up front Tom Devine comes back in at loose head prop with Dale Rogers starting at hooker for the first time this season.

On the bench scrum half Rory Harries begins his comeback from injury.

The twenty selected are:

15. Callum Rowlands, 14. George Collins, 13. Matthew Williams, 12. Greg Callow, 11. Jordan Rees, 10. Bradley Williams, 9. Owain Keane, 1. Tom Devine, 2. Dale Rogers ©, 3. Rhys Hutcherson, 4. Craig Hudd, 5. Matthew Bovington, 6. James Richards, 7. Owen Jones, 8. Nathan Hudd.
