The Directors of Bedwas RFC are delighted to announce the appointment, with immediate effect, of Steve Law as the Clubs’ Rugby Director.
Steve Law is a prominent figure in Welsh rugby, known for his transformative coaching career. He began his coaching journey with Bedwas RFC, where he spent 16 years establishing the club as a competitive force within the Welsh Premiership. His tenure at Bedwas laid the foundation for his reputation as a skilled and innovative coach.
In 2018, Steve Law took on the role of head coach at Cardiff RFC. Under his leadership, the club experienced one of its most successful periods in the semi-professional era. During his time at Cardiff, the team achieved remarkable milestones, including winning the Premiership title in 2022 and securing two Welsh Cup victories, as well as Premiership runners-up twice.
In 2024, it was announced that Steve Law would be leaving Cardiff RFC, marking the end of a significant chapter in his coaching career. His departure was met with gratitude and admiration for his contributions to the club’s success and culture.
Steve Law’s legacy in Welsh rugby is defined by his dedication to the sport, his ability to inspire players, and his role in shaping the future of rugby talent in Wales.
After taking a break from the game Law feels this is a good time to reignite his passion for the game of rugby football.
Speaking after his appointment he said, “I’m excited and energized to be back after my break. Now, it’s time for all of us, on and off the field, to roll up our sleeves and put in the hard work. Our goal as a group, both players and coaches, is clear: promotion to the Premiership. Regardless of whether we achieve that this season, my mindset and strategy remain the same; building a successful team and club for the long term. I’ve already seen that success comes with higher standards and greater expectations, but if we all get on the same page, we can embrace the challenge and enjoy the journey together.
I, for one, can’t wait to get started.”
