WRU Admiral Championship East, Saturday 25 April 2026.

A late change to the starting line-up did not phase Bedwas as a strong first half laid the platform for a convincing Bedwas win. Tristan Kugler dropped out through illness, Jak Crompton moving from bench to starting full back and Jak Robbins coming onto the bench were the necessary changes.

On a warm sunny spring afternoon both sides took time to settle but it was Bedwas who opened the scoring after six minutes as Jak Crompton ran through to touch down under the posts. Harri Ford added the extras.

Three minutes later a good run by Hamish Anderson earned him a try again improved upon by Ford.

St Josephs fought to get back into the game and with sixteen minutes played Bedwas conceded too many penalties close to their line and a penalty try was awarded to the home side.

Bedwas hit back almost immediately as a run from deep by Luke Crane was rewarded by a try under the posts, converted by Ford.

Bedwas kept up the momentum and with twenty-four minutes played Rhys Morgans ran through for the bonus point winning fourth try converted by Ford.

Bedwas turned the screw and just before the half hour mark scrum half Luke Crane was driven over the line for a try converted by Ford.

Bedwas were not finished and four minutes before the break Harri Ford jinked through for a try which he added the conversion to.

Bedwas changed the starting props at the beginning of the second half, but the Bedwas scoring started strongly in the first minute of the half as Luke Crane ran through the home defence to score a try under the posts. Ford added the extras.

Luke Crane ran in his third try of the afternoon five minutes later crossing the whitewash in the right-hand corner, Ford continued his 100% kicking record with a successful conversion.

Bedwas made replacements with Dewi Thomas and Lewis Crane replacing Dale Rogers and Jake Lee, respectively.

Adam Williams crossed for try number nine after 12 minutes had elapsed converted by Ford.

St Josephs did not lie down and with fifteen minutes elapsed their captain Will Meades crossed for a try converted by Sweetman.

Bedwas replaced Luke Crane with Jak Robbins, but Bedwas stayed on the front foot for a try for Adam Williams which was unconverted.

St Peters ran in a third try again converted to reduce the arrears with fifteen minutes to play. Spurred on his teammates earned a deserved four try bonus point with three minutes left to play, the conversion kick was successful.

Bedwas had the last say of the day as Adam Williams crashed through for a try with the last move of the day, Ford successfully added the extras.

The top of the league table sees Bedwas continue to hold top spot with 101 points from twenty-one games played. Glamorgan Wanderers hold second place with eighty-eight points from twenty games played.

Next week Bedwas host St Peters RFC at the Bridgefield, kick-off 2-30pm.
