Glyn Cousins passes away-Updated with funeral arrangements

All at Bedwas RFC are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Glyn Cousins, a trustee, life member and father of Club Chairman Dave Cousins.
Glyn was born and brought up in Blaina and played most of his rugby for Blaina RFC and the Royal Marines where he was a PT. Instructor. On leaving the forces he returned to Wales to spend many years running the remedial therapy department at Ystrad Mynach Hospital. During this time he began his long association with Bedwas RFC serving as First Team coach and for many years as the club physiotherapist. Many of our older ex-players will remember him as having the strongest fingers and thumbs in Wales!. During this time he also acted as medic for the Monmouthshire County team.
Glyn was a true servant of the club and a genuine gentleman who will be sorely missed.
Our thoughts and sympathies go out to Dave,Sian and the family at this sad time.

The funeral of Glyn Cousins will be taking place at 2.45pm on Thursday 9 April at Wenallt Chapel, Thornhill Cemetary. Unfortunately, due to current restrictions on public gatherings there will be no mourners beyond immediate family.

Donations in Glyn’s memory can be made to the British Heart Foundation directly, or via Ray Williams & Co. Funeral Directors. We will plan to host a memorial for Glyn at Bedwas RFC in the future once current restrictions are lifted.

As ever, our heartfelt condolences go to Dave, Siân and the rest of Glyn’s family and friends.
