Team news for Saturday’s clash with Merthyr

Bedwas begin their holiday season campaign with a home fixture against table topping Merthyr RFC (kick-off 2-30pm).
We are grateful to Cardiff RFC for allowing Kieran Martin, Sam Pailor, Ramaz Rukhadze and Ian Jenkins to represent Bedwas RFC on permit alongside the Dragons’ George Gasson and Senghenydd’s Will Fishlock and Callum Williams-thank you all.
The selection for this game sees one change in the back line with Tom Rowlands starting at scrum half.
The starting forwards feature two of the aforementioned Cardiff permit players with one change to the front row with Sam Cochrane starting at loose head prop. Dale Rogers continues as captain.

Speaking ahead of the game Head Coach Stefan Sankala said “Merthyr once again pose a big challenge ahead of what is a crucial mew year for our club. We were particularly happy with our first 40 minutes against Ponty last week but still require a positive response on the back of our defeat. Merthyr will be hurting after their recent loss to Cardiff so we need to be at the races right from the off, but our squad will be up for the challenge that a strong Merthyr outfit will bring”
The full squad is as follows:
15. Joseph Scrivens, 14. George Gasson, 13. Tom Hoppe, 12. Adam Williams, 11. Kane Teear-Bourge, 10. Dion McIntosh, 9. Tom Rowlands; 1. Sam Cochrane, 2. Mike Dacey, 3. Chris Budgen, 4. Kieran Martin, 5. Gareth Allen, 6. Sam Pailor, 7. Bradley Hill, 8. Dale Rogers. ©
