It has been another incredibly busy day of action at Bedwas RFC. The clean-up has continued with volunteers working through the day to continue the removal of muck and damaged goods from the site. The Youth boys have been back out in force, working through their half-term down the club and the ladies have been keeping them very much on task! Again, a number of businesses have helped support our operation: Miss B’s Pantry, Tsangs, Travis Perkins, C&S to name but a few. Some club volunteers have also kindly collected chairs donated from Gareth Coombes of Nelson.
Our fundraising efforts have been active for just over 24 hours and we have had a incredible response. Our situation remains uncertain but the support of our friends across the country and beyond continues to hearten us. The WRU met today to discuss the situation we and other clubs find ourselves in and so we look forward to hearing from them. The Union have remained in contact with us and we are grateful to their staff for keeping in touch.
Tomorrow will see volunteers reconvene at the club as we look to get more damaged items off the premises. The weather is forecast to be awful so it will be difficult to work on cleaning the pitch which is something that we’ll need to get to in time.
As ever, donations to our fundraiser are gratefully received. You can donate here: https://tinyurl.com/ral6hk9 We also had a pair of tickets donated to us from the Hudd family/Dragon Soft Drinx today. These were auctioned to Nicola for £255 so thank you all for that too!
