On a chilly afternoon at the Bridgefield Bedwas Youth entertained Whiteheads Youth back in league action after a break for a WRU bowl game against Treharris writes Stephen Lloyd-Clubbe.

The game kicked off with Bedwas on the front foot

Bedwas scored a try after 26 minutes but Zac Raymond’s conversion went wide (Bedwas Youth 12 Whiteheads Youth 0).

All the pressure in the 1st half from Bedwas again paid off, just before the half time whistle Bedwas scored again with an Alex Kawulok try and Zac Raymond converting.

Half Time Bedwas Youth 19 Whiteheads Youth 0.

With the 2nd half kicking off Whiteheads to the credit came out with nothing to lose and Bedwas seemingly still in there half time huddle scored a try and conversion after 42 minutes (Bedwas Youth 19 Whiteheads Youth 7).

50 minutes Bedwas woke up again and scored a well worked try through Kyle Jackson conversion again missed (Bedwas Youth 24 Whiteheads Youth 7).

The game was really in the balance when the Whiteheads outside half hit a long hopeful ball into the Bedwas 22 there 3 players picked the ball up and scored a try but the referee who had a really good game saw that the 3 boys were in front of the kicker and called them back for a penalty to Bedwas.

Bedwas then made their final change with 7 minutes to go but Rhydian Winslade was on a matter of minutes before he received a yellow card with a Whiteheads player as well. With both sides down to 14 players and everything to play for Bedwas had the last say.

Liam Lintern scored the match winning try after 69 minutes with Zac Raymond scoring the conversion and the referee blow up and Bedwas Youth won their1st game of the season.

Final Score Bedwas Youth 31 Whiteheads Youth 19.
